To clarify this question, Alina Biallas and Miriam Leicht took part in the kick-off event of the ZIM innovation network EMMA (EMissionsneutrale MAssivumformung) on March 6th and 7th, 2024, which is organized by the Industrieverband Massivumformung e. V. Approaches and research ideas that contribute to reducing emissions in bulk forming and the entire process chain - from steel to the final workpiece treatment - were discussed together and ideas were collected. The LFT contributed in particular to ideas relating to forming processes. We are convinced that the advantages of bulk forming can be used through targeted process design, e.g. in order to avoid heat treatment steps and thus contribute to a lower CO2 footprint of the end product. We look forward to further meetings and possible collaborations!
