WGP annual congress in the Black Forest

From November 20th to 23rd, 2023 the annual congress of the Scientific Society for Production Technology took place in Freudenstadt on the Black Forest campus. The one from the Institute for Industrial Manufacturing and Factory Operations (IFF) at the University of Stuttgart The congress organized made it possible for young scientists from different disciplines of production technology to present their contributions and results on the topic of “Production at the borderline – Using technology-based and sustainable production to create a circular economy”. Based on the thematic focuses of environmentally neutral production, resilient value creation systems, production technologies for the circular economy and digitalization, a cross-section of current research fields and results in the field of production technology was presented. The LFT was attended by the lecture “Investigation of the influence of slightly increased process temperatures on the extrusion of functional aluminum components in sheet-bulk metal forming” by Thomas Wild represented. The specialist lectures were complemented by an interesting supporting program with keynotes, panel discussions, the awarding of the Otto Kienzle commemorative coin and company tours.
