Mr. Simon Hubert was able to win this year's VDI bachelor's prize with his bachelor's thesis "Investigation of connections between wobbling and semi-hollow punch riveting by step setting tests". The prize is awarded to students in the fields of chemical and biological engineering, mechanical engineering and materials science. The work was done in the course of studying mechanical engineering and is endowed with 500 €. As a result of the work, step setting tests could be carried out using a test setup, which expanded the understanding of the process of semi-tubular punch riveting and the process combination of wobbling and semi-tubular punch riveting. Based on the results, it was possible to identify the influence of wobbling on the process of semi-tubular punch riveting and to evaluate relevant process parameters.
