Schaeffler FAG Foundation: Innovation Award

Dr.-Ing. Thomas Papke won second place in the doctoral theses category of the Schaeffler FAG Foundation's Innovation Awards for his dissertation entitled "Investigations on the formability of hybrid parts made of sheet metal body and additively manufactured structure". As part of the work, the basics for combining forming technology and additive manufacturing in the field of metal processing were developed. The award was presented at a ceremony in the Kugelmühle in Schweinfurt.

The foundation is open to applications from all countries, so that this year, in addition to German scientists, work that was supervised from Great Britain was also awarded. One award winner traveled from Chile.
