The project "Investigations on the combined process of DED-LB/M and forming" was approved by the German Research Foundation. Within the project period of 24 months, in cooperation with the Institute of Photonic Technologies, a basic understanding of the process for the production of components through the combination of forming technology and laser powder deposition welding (DED-LB/M) is to be developed. Furthermore, the goal is the production of tailor-made component properties using precisely this combination of processes. For this purpose, the influences of the hardening brought about by the forming stage and the heat input resulting from the additive process in alternating production on the component properties are examined. The system network consisting of hydraulic press and LPAS cell connected by a 5-axis-robot is used for the realization.
