The spring meeting of the German Cold Forging Group took place on March 19, 2024 at the Institute for Metal Forming at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. As part of the “Tools” working group, which is headed by Prof. Merklein, Andreas Hetzel and Miriam Leicht presented the exciting research projects “Use of a tumbling process as a versatile joining process” and “Wear behavior of micro-textured embossing tools”. The lectures were enriched by a lively professional exchange with industry representatives.

Many thanks to Prof. Marré from the Solid Forming Laboratory for presenting our joint study on the topic of “Cost reduction for small batch sizes”, which aims to open up new industries for cold solid forming.

The spring meeting was characterized by interesting insights, valuable discussions and the pursuit of innovation in cold forging. We look forward to continued successful collaboration and would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment and contributions.
