Forming Technology
Forming Technology
Global trends such as lightweight construction, resource efficiency, functional integration, and sustainable process chains require manufacturing technologies that combine technical requirements with economic feasibility. Forming technology offers key solutions for these challenges: It enables the production of complex, high-precision, and mechanically resilient components while simultaneously utilizing materials efficiently. The Forming Technology group is dedicated to both application-oriented and fundamental scientific research in the field of innovative sheet metal, bulk metal, and sheet metal forming processes. Furthermore, the group focuses on integrating pioneering technologies into existing process chains. The use of AI-supported systems, adaptive control concepts, and data-driven process analyses enhances traditional forming processes. This creates intelligent processes that set new standards in efficiency, precision, and process robustness. The goal is to push existing process boundaries and unlock new technological potential for industrial applications.
