Abstract
Current trends in the industry and the increasing digitalization of production lines require a new mind set for the design of value chain and product development. Additive manufacturing offers a high potential to establish new process chains by means of digitalization and automatization and to realize a competitive advantage compared to other companies. Before the introduction of production lines with regard to additive manufacturing, the potential of the technology has to be proven with in the value chain. The aim of this project is the development of a methodology to exhaust the possibilities of Additive Manufacturing in strategical important and economically sensible areas and to build up the necessary technology know how. For a validation of industrial use and the possible integration of additive manufacturing in new process chains the project is in cooperation with the Schaeffler AG.
In cooperation with the Institute of Photonic Technologies.
