Excursion to the stamping plant at BMW AG in Regensburg

As part of the lecture "Metal Forming", 20 students took the opportunity to visit the BMW AG stamping plant in Regensburg to deepen their knowledge of the lecture content on Juli 20th. After a general introduction to the company, the basic structure of the Regensburg plant was presented interactively. In addition, future topics of the automotive industry such as autonomous mobility were discussed. The excursion participants then received a tour along the process chain in the stamping plant, also with a focus on the integration of digitization tools in production. In addition, the multi-stage production of structural components was demonstrated, starting from blank cutting through to transport to the body shop.
