Thinking outside the box – visiting the Ulm Concrete Days

From 20.-22. June 2023 saw the 67th Concrete Days in Ulm in the Congress Center directly on the Danube. Concrete? Yes, concrete, because there are many ways to use steel in the construction industry. One example is the addition of steel fibers, for the production of which the chair is analyzing an innovative process chain in the DFG project "Notched rolling and alternating bending - basic investigations into the production of flowable material with a low aspect ratio based on strip material". The project manager Alina Biallas therefore uses the exhibition and the congress lectures to find out about current topics in the industry and to get in touch with manufacturers and users. Of particular interest were the many contributions and discussions that dealt with the potential for reducing the ecological footprint in the construction industry - e.g. with steel fiber reinforcement.
