1st Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Day

On November 13th, the Bilstein Group hosted the 1st Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Day in Hagen. The renowned cold-rolled strip manufacturer primarily targeted the construction industry with its innovative STABILS steel fiber, but steel fibers and their potential as concrete reinforcement also piqued our interest as the Institute of Manufacturing Technology. Our research associate Alina Biallas, who also conducts research on a steel fiber manufacturing process based on sheet metal strip, gladly accepted the invitation to the Ruhr region and represented the Chair of Manufacturing Technology on site. She had the opportunity to attend many fascinating presentations, including some outside our usual steel-related focus, and to tour the impressive rolling mill.
