Exciting project approved: Residual stresses in cup extrusion

Not only employees who have submitted a research proposal, but also components can be under tension. In contrast to waiting anxiously for the decision, residual stresses in steel components can certainly cause unfavorable effects. An example is the occurrence of distortion during post-machining of formed cups. In the new project “Investigation of mechanisms relevant to residual stress along the process chain of the production of cup extruded parts” research is to be carried out on precisely this challenge in collaboration with Bilstein & Siekermann GmbH & Co.
