New tool system on the LFT

As part of an innovative DFG research project, the LFT is investigating the single-stage production of helical functional components made of sheet metal. The tool system developed for this purpose was successfully put into operation and near-net-shape components were manufactured from deep-drawing steel and a brass alloy. This step lays the foundation for resource-efficient production of helical-cut lightweight components with smooth running and good load-bearing capacity.
