Abstract
The aim of the research project is the improvement of the mapping accuracy in numerically simulated forming operations. This is achieved by considering the material behavior under plane strain. As part of this project, testing methods are initially developed to determine the material behavior under plane strain from the onset of yielding up to failure under this loading condition. That is only possible by using two different experimental concepts to be able to partially quantify the material behavior. On the basis of these material characteristics, existing analytical models for the calculation of stress components at plane strain are analyzed and evaluated based on their prediction quality. Subsequently, an existing material model is modified so that the experimentally determined material characteristics can be taken into account in the model. Finally, the developed material model shall be validated by transfer to a demonstrator component in a hydroforming process.
