Sustainable Smart Industry

The common denomitator for the intelligent digitalization and connection of all entities involved in the industrial value creation chain is Industry 4.0. The technical aspects of this development are being researched in numerous initiatives. In the framework of this joint project the different aspects coming from ecological, enomical and social perspectives are to be integrated. The longterm goal is the deduction of ingetragion strategies.

Three dimensions of sustainability and their interdependencies

The LFT's research work will be located in focus 4, hardware and production technology. One targeted aspect is the integration of older but still used machine tools into Industry 4.0 and the data acquisition on the one hand and the interdependencies of materials or semifinished products and production processes or machine settings on the other hand. Furthermore the compatibility of individualisation and massproduction as well as the influence of local markets and its detectability in collected data will be research topics.
